# Bandwidth overages

## What are bandwidth overages?

Bandwidth overages occur when you go over your allocated monthly data transfer included within your plan. Any data transfer beyond that limit results in additional charges. Overages are calculated based on the total combined inbound and outbound traffic of your server.

## Will I get charged if I go over my allocation?

Yes, overage charges will apply. The current rate for bandwidth overages at Synteq HPC is $1/TB. Overage charges are automatically applied based on your server's actual usage, so it's important to monitor your bandwidth consumption regularly to avoid unexpected costs.

## I've gone over my allocation, what should I do?

Please reach out to us immediately \[via the buttons on the top right], and upgrade your bandwidth allocation to avoid overage charges.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.synteq.com/dedicated-servers/other/bandwidth-overages.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
